JLL to open Legacy West outpost in Plano to meet growing suburban demand
Brokerage firm JLL (NYSE: JLL) plans to open a new outpost in WeWork's Legacy West location in Plano as client demand continues to grow in Dallas-Fort Worth's northern suburbs.
The real estate firm has taken an undisclosed amount of space at WeWork's Legacy West location at 7700 Windrose Ave. in Plano and will begin working with clients from the new Collin County outpost immediately.
The WeWork office will give JLL a place to stay ahead of client needs and help give them the best service possible, said Brad Selner, JLL's south central region president.
The Far North Dallas submarket is one of the most active submarkets for real estate activity in the United States.
In 2017, JLL researchers tracked 5 million square feet of new deliveries to this particular submarket, which is a big chunk of the 7.4 million square feet of new office product delivered in the region.
Torrey Littlejohn, a senior vice president at JLL, said it made sense for the brokerage firm to locate where its clients are growing.
JLL has been shopping its real estate options for its main North Texas office in Preston Center, but real estate sources say the brokerage firm is expected to extend its office lease along Douglas Avenue to keep its foothold in the sought-after submarket.
Other Dallas-Fort Worth companies are opening outpost offices in the sprawling northern submarkets to keep pace with growing demand in this part of the region.
