Plano, Texas, beat out tech-savvy San Jose (2) and San Francisco (3) as the most iPad friendly city in the U.S. in a survey featured in Men’s Health magazine.
Why did Plano rank number one? According to David Zinczenko, EVP and Editor of Men’s Health, “Texas 9th largest city happens to be home to a number of corporate headquarters of prominent technology companies, including Dell Services, Ericsson, HP Enterprise Services, Siemens PLM Software and Alliance Data.“ Other tech giants in Plano include Texas Instruments, McAfee, Raytheon, Alcatel-Lucent and AT&T’s new apps lab.
Other corporations such as JC Penney, Dr Pepper Snapple Group, Frito-Lay, and Pizza Hut/Yum! Restaurants International are also headquartered in Plano.
The article also states that iPad adoption is correlated to levels of education. In Plano, 53% of adults have a Bachelor’s degree or higher (double the national average).
