Adjacent to the famed Telecom Corridor, Plano enjoys its share of telecom companies. For years, Plano was the U.S. headquarters of Alcatel. After its merger, Alcatel-Lucent remains a major Plano employer along with XO Communications, Samsung Telecommunications of America, Ericsson, AT&T, GENBAND, Huawei and Telmar.
