Health, Medical & Bio Science

Companies engaged in medical device, neuro stimulation, clinical IT, blood test products, implantable batteries, imaging software and medical instruments are thriving in Plano.  This is due, in part, to great increases in global demand for healthcare.

Area R&D assets include three medical schools: University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center at Dallas, University of North Texas Health Science Center and Baylor University Medical Center. Strong concentrations in IT and software industries provide transferable skills for medical device manufacturing.
