“Plano, Texas. Smart people. Smart place.” is not just a tagline, it’s true. Plano residents are highly educated, young, and racially/ethnically diverse.  Over 52% of adults have a bachelor’s degree or higher (more than twice the national average).


Young and diverse population

Plano is the fourth largest City in the Dallas-Fort Worth region with over 261,000 residents.  And, it is a young population with Plano residents between the ages of 25-44 accounting for nearly one-third of the population. Over 6.3 million people reside in the Dallas-Fort Worth MSA.
The city also has a diverse population.  Plano's Asian community represents 16.8% of the population; more than triple the national average.  Other segments of the population include Hispanics 14.7%, African Americans 7.4%, Whites 58.4% and Other at 2.8%.
