Wrecking crews have started taking down Plano's Collin Creek Mall.
The 37-year-old shopping center on U.S. Highway 75 is being redeveloped into a $1 billion mixed-use project.
But first, demolition teams have to raze most of the old, two-story shopping mall.
Project developer Mehrdad Moayedi said demolition started this week. "It's taken a long time to get here, but we are underway," Moayedi said.
