Groundbreaking tomorrow for Legacy West hotel tower

A groundbreaking tomorrow will kick off construction of the next big development in Plano’s booming Legacy West development.

The Renaissance Hotel will be built near the northwest corner of the Dallas North Tollway and Legacy Drive.

It’s part of the 240-acre, $2 billion Legacy West mixed-use project that includes Toyota’s new North American headquarters and a new regional office center for Boston-based Liberty Mutual Insurance.

Dallas’ Sam Moon Group is building the 304-room Renaissance Hotel which was designed by architect HKS. Brasfield & Gorrie is the general contractor,

The luxury hotel is part of the $400 million Legacy West urban village that will include dozens more destination restaurants, shops and offices.

The Renaissance Legacy West opens in early 2017.

Sam Moon Group is the same firm that owns the popular North Texas-based retail operation.

Legacy West is a development of Karahan Cos., KDC, Columbus Realty Partners and J.C. Penney.
