Aligned Energy to develop $300M data center in Plano
Aligned Data Centers, a subsidiary of Danbury, Connecticut-based Aligned Energy LLC, is in the midst of developing a $300 million, 30-megawatt data center complex in Plano.
The 300,000-square-foot facility at 2800 Summit Ave. is one of the first company locations to come online in the United States, CEO Jakob Carnemark told the Dallas Business Journal in an exclusive interview.
"We really liked the Plano market," Carnemark told me. "It's a very good market from a fiber and power perspective. It's a very strong data center market that's equidistant from coast to coast and easily accessible."
The Plano facility is part of a larger national expansion for Aligned Data Centers. The data center will help launch Aligned Data Centers' model of leasing megawatts to tenants based on what they use instead of the typical leasing terms on a per megawatt basis.
