Pizza Hut looks to add 2 buildings to its Plano HQ

Plano-based Pizza Hut plans to significantly expand its North Texas headquarters by adding two buildings to its corporate home on Corporate Drive.

The restaurant giant may have wanted to keep up with its soon-to-be neighbors, which will include FedEx Office, Toyota North American and Liberty Mutual Insurance.

Pizza Hut of America LLC has asked the city to allow easements on its 20.5-acres of land in West Plano at 7100 Corporate Drive to build two new buildings and abandon former easements it says are "no longer necessary," according to the City of Plano's planning and zoning commission.

A preliminary hearing before the commission is scheduled for Monday night. A Pizza Hut spokesman confirmed the company's plans, but did not have any additional details to give the Dallas Business Journal immediately. Check back for more details soon.

Pizza Hut's corporate campus was last valued at nearly $35 million. It includes a 165,525-square-foot building and parking garage.
