Toyota's new $350M North American campus gets revved up in West Plano

Toyota is one shovel load closer to putting its $350 million North American headquarters in West Plano into operation, after holding a ceremonial groundbreaking Tuesday that incorporated a 2015 Toyota Tundra pickup truck.

The truck revved up for the audience of roughly 100 people, made up of local media and Toyota "pioneers" who are helping ready the massive 100 acres to hold a facility that can hold nearly 4,000 corporate employees.

"It's clear this is the right place to begin the next chapter of Toyota's history in North America," Toyota North American CEO Jim Lentz told the audience at Monday's groundbreaking ceremony.
