Telect Inc. a privately held developer and manufacturer of equipment for communications and data center service providers, has opened a new 100,000 square foot manufacturing operation on 10st Street in Plano, the company announced Dec. 15.
"In Plano, we have great employees, a central location for manufacturing and distribution, and proximity to our partners and customers," said Tom Potter, Telect's director of North American operations, in a press release. "The Plano facility is crucial for Telect to serve our North American customers and multinational OEMs, and as a link to our Guadalajara, Mexico facility."
The new Plano facility is utilized for manufacturing and integrating outdoor enclosures and power systems for wireless networks, equipment racks for data centers and telecom central office infrastructure, power distribution panels, and other products. Telect, based in Liberty Lake, Wash., invested more than $3 million in the new facility, according to the company. (12/20/10)
