A new report confirms that D/FW International Airport ranked third in the world for aircraft movement and eighth in the world for total passenger traffic in 2010, according to a report this week from Airports Council International, an airport association.
D/FW hosted 652,261 take-offs and landings in 2010 (for an average of about 1,787 per day). That was up 2.1 percent from 2009. Atlanta was the busiest airport for aircraft movement, followed by Chicago.
When it comes to passengers, D/FW hosted 56.9 million enplaning and deplaning passengers in 2010, up 1.6 percent from 2009. D/FW placed eighth behind Atlanta, Beijing, Chicago, London, Tokyo, Los Angeles and Paris. (3/16/10)
