Choice Hotels International and O'Reilly Hospitality Management plan to expand their upscale Cambria Suites brand into Texas with the first location in the state in Plano.
The developers plan to break ground next week on the four-story, 129-room hotel at 7500 Parkwood Blvd. in Plano. Along with 2,400 square feet of meeting space, the hotel will feature an outdoor bar, art by local Plano artists, cabanas by the pool and casual dining in the hotel restaurant, Reflect.
One of the reasons behind the developers' plans for Cambria Suites in Plano was the strong corporate and retail presence in Legacy, which include the corporate offices of Cinemark, Ericsson, Frito-Lay, Huawei, J.C. Penney and Pizza Hut. The Legacy area of Plano is known as being one of the strongest real estate submarkets in North Texas, with office landlords pushing rents and developers working on new projects.
There are currently 19 Cambria Suites in the U.S. with 2,200 rooms, with 26 branded hotels in various stages of development. (06/06/13; 06/13/13)
